Amati Global Investors has hired Gavin White to join its sales team, marking the firm’s second new appointment in less than three months.
White had previously spent two years as head of UK wholesale at Octopus Investments. Prior to this, he spent 17 years at JO Hambro Capital Management, latterly as head of UK intermediary sales.
White’s appointment comes shortly after Amati hired Jupiter Asset Management’s Mark Ingram as sales director in July.

White and Ingram previously worked together at Credit Suisse. White worked from 2000 to 2006 as a broker sales associate, while Ingram was co-head of UK retail sales for several years until 2009.
Amati sales director John Woolley had also worked with White at JO Hambro before taking his current role.
Commenting on White’s appointment, Rachel Le Derf, head of sales and marketing at Amati, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gavin to Amati. His extensive intermediary experience, strong industry relationships and client-focused approach make him an excellent addition to the team.
“Following Mark’s recent appointment, Gavin’s arrival gives us further strength and depth as we expand Amati’s reach and support our clients.”
White added that Amati has “built a strong reputation for combining specialist investment thinking with a clear focus on its clients”.
“I am pleased to be joining a business with such a distinctive culture and look forward to drawing on my experience across the UK intermediary market to introduce its capabilities to new clients.
“This is a compelling time to be joining the firm, and I am keen to play my part in developing new partnerships and contributing to Amati’s growth.”
