Columbia Threadneedle Investments has further broadened its bond range with the launch of the new CT (Lux) Global Aggregate Bond fund.
The new fund is a repositioning of the CT (Lux) Flexible Asian Bond fund, broadening from a regional Asian mandate to a global strategy investing in a wide range of global government and corporate bond markets.
It combines active country, yield and duration views with selective corporate credit exposure, designed to help investors navigate changing inflation, growth and policy conditions. It is led by Keith Patton and the wider CT fixed income team, which have run wider global aggregate bond strategies since 2018.
The fund has launched with an initial $227m in assets under management, according to Columbia Threadneedle.
Keith Patton, head of global rates and unconstrained fixed income at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, said: “Higher yields have restored the appeal of bonds as a source of income and portfolio diversification.
“At the same time, greater dispersion across countries, yield curves, and credit markets is creating a broader opportunity set for active fixed income investors.”
The team’s diversified approach aims to capture the broad opportunities in the fixed income market, Patton explained, while maintaining a strict focus on risk.
Michaela Collet Jackson, head of distribution EMEA at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, added: “This launch broadens access to a proven global aggregate capability at a time when investors are seeking income, resilience and diversification.”
